ORIGINAL PERFORMANCE
2020
National Students’ House, Sofia

An original performance by Sapromat and Tsveta Doycheva. Premiere: 5 and 6 March 2020.

Nominated for the national Ikar Award 2021 in the Contemporary Dance and Performance category.

An original performance by Sapromat and Tsveta Doycheva, created for and inspired by the chamber hall of the National Students’ House.

Phantasm is an attempt at a polyphony of movement, object, subject, digital media and music. The audience is invited to become part of the kinetics of the picture made in the space — to sense its scattered parts and to arrange them in an order of their own. We look for the possibility of recognising oneself in the other, of replacing the mirrored “I” with “you” — a way out of an everyday mirror situation that can become a path for looking through the surface into what lies beneath.
